Batten down the hatches.
The first arrivals from Lover's latest collection Lydia have just arrived in store. The beautiful collection is rich in teals, tweed and fine tailoring and introduces the very fashionable re-imagining of the humble skort in tweed, ruby and black. Also in this delivery is the much anticipated Cotton Contrast Shirt (pictured).
Shop the collection now in store at City Womens and Paddington.
Over the past few years, our friends at Portable have been responsible for bringing some of the best and most inspiring creatives from around the world to our shores in their series of Portable talks.
This month, we're excited to be attending Portable Presents Product Design 2012. A two hour salon style presentation exploring the complexities of conceiving, designing and launching online products to an international market. Speakers include Leni Mayo (99designs), Shainiel Deo (Halfbrick) and Simon Goodrich the Co-Founder of Portable.
Specially curated for creative audiences, we think you'll leave feeling inspired, challenged and motivated. The best part about Portable talks, is that you can guarantee the best conversations happen after the event - usually at the local over a couple of cold drinks.
The talks will be visiting Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne from Feb 14th.

This week our buyers braved the European winter to see some of their favourite continental collections. First up was Paul Smith in London, the showroom of the quirky British label is always an exciting first stop of the trip. Known for it's classic shirting, bold patterns and range of colourful acessories we love the mix of British sophistication and downtown tounge and cheek that comes through in the range.
Next, our buyers head to the city of lights to see the best of Acne, APC and more. Check back for the next behind the buy feature, coming soon.
It's that time of year again, when boxes of brand new collections begin to descend on our stores and a flurry of winter colours begin to slowly warm the racks. The AB Hotel, Glebe.

Rolling up my cuffs for optimum performance, I looked the girl friend in the eye and we took our positions. She gripped her bat and I took mine. Let the games begin.
On a rained out night we found ourselves in inner-city Glebe. Normally I would shoot hoops with my homies here, a real white men can’t jump troupe, but the wet weather and 5’6” pocket rocket put a dampener on my high hopes.
The Crying Tiger from Wok On Inn did well at providing momentary distraction and comfort, but once my bowl was empty I was reminded of my own hollow hoop dreams and I near embodied my dinner as Crying Leif.
Resigning to checking out games at Broadways 24-hour Kmart Land, we set off, until fate intervened. Like an umbrella shielding my sodden, competition-deprived heart, gleamed the white chalk message from heaven – if heaven were the AB Hotel – “Ping Pong - Free”.
Not just for the nimble nerd, the cult of pong is popping up globally; Susan (MILF) Sarandon has a chain of underground PP nightclubs in New York, China is creating a paddle-shaped hotel, not to mention they are a staple along with the Scotch cabinet in every advertising firm “to get the creative juices flowing”.
I went with my flow and entered my new-found nirvana; the jolly barman equipped us and pointed us upstairs to a large open-plan game room resembling a Russian frat-house. The WWII paraphernalia emblazoning the loft seems to promote my inner warlord, add to that English Premier League on the plasma’s and I was in a battle-zone normally spared for when I coach little-league soccer.
Launching into action, my competitor and I immersed in the addictive trance-like game, whipping and curving the ball, fore-handing like Federer and smashing down the line like Djokovic. We even made a peace treaty, agreeing to remove the imaginary targets on each other’s heads, resulting in an 80 hit rally, filling us with pride like we were proud parents who disciplined our beautiful bouncing baby ball.
Playing until the lightweights sinewy arms gave in, we threw in the towel until next time at the table.
For those who aren’t Don Draper or across the globe, and want a change of scene from the effeminately-blokey Eastern suburbs pubs, take a paddle at the AB.
Friend of Incu DJ James Dela Cruz has woven together the perfect summer mix to see you through the holidays season. Featuring everyone from Chaka to Crowded House, we recommend you enjoy this auricular delight with a chilled beverage and a view of the beach.
